Our Clients

Our clients are mainly elderly people, people with disabilities and/or their carers. Many of our clients are people who are alone and wish to have contact with other people.

Our clients enjoy their time within our service meeting and making new friends, looking forward to their social activities, doing their shopping, getting to appointments or the friendly home visitor.

The following poem was written by one of our clients to explain her expience with our organisation.  It was included in our 25th birthday anniversary booklet which was provided to all our clients and volunteers in 2009.

                        Friendship

I was a lonely lady
But now am filled with glee
Several lovely ladies come to visit me

We play tile games in the morning
Cards in the dining room
Pause to have our luncheon
Somewhere round about noon.
We discuss the nation’s problems
that occur throughout the week.
Sometimes the conversation isn’t then too meek.

‘Twas all in the country’s interest
No malice in our thoughts
As we sent to gaol the guilty
Tried over our table court.

The heat then didn’t worry us
As to be cooled off by the fan,
Then set the date for our next meeting
That’s in our future plan.

We send our birthday greetings
To the Wallsend Carer’s crew
And if all is well and healthy
We’ll celebrate with you.                                       …….Alma G
